The first species is the Anopheles, which are responsible for causing Malaria. These mosquitoes are more active during night. The Aedes species or dengue mosquito is responsible for causing the fatal Dengue and are more active during the day. In Malaysia, Dengue is the number one health issue for mosquito related illness. The Culux species is responsible for causing Japanese B Encephalitis, which is a kind of brain fever.


These types of mosquitoes are usually found in the drains and polluted waters of the city.

  • The best way to get rid of mosquito problem is to prevent the mosquito bite and control the mosquito breeding.
  • How to control mosquito population? The mosquitoes breed on stagnant water. Even as little as an inch of stagnated water is enough space for the mosquitoes to breed. Therefore it is necessary to make sure that there are no possible mosquito breeding places in or around your house.
  • Look for the abandoned dishes, cans, potholes, cooler tanks, pots etc.
  • If you have a pond, make sure that you have added some fishes which can eat mosquito larva. Add any petroleum oil like kerosene, in water cooler tanks.
  • The layer of oil will suffocate any mosquito larva and prevent female mosquitoes from laying their eggs.
  • How to prevent mosquitoes from entering your house or biting you? To make sure that the mosquitoes do not enter your house, close the doors and windows after dark, use mosquito nets on windows to avoid mosquitoes entering your house.
  • When outdoors make sure to cover your skin with as much clothing as possible, like full sleeves, trousers etc.
  • There are also many mosquito repellants available in the market. Make sure to use them.
  • Children are more prone to the health risks of mosquito bites. Make sure to prevent them from any health hazard.
