Spiders like to live in damp, warm and dark places of your home. Most of the spiders live outdoors; however, there are times when they will enter your home in search for foodstuff and refuge. Usually spiders are harmless and they just lurk in the damp dark corners of your house. However, some of the species like black widow have potential to harm humans with their bites. Spiders eat other insects and thus keep the population of insects in your house in control. Therefore, it might not be necessary to get rid of them. However, problem arises for those people, who have real fear of spiders and can’t bear the site of these creepy arachnids.

The most common way for spiders to enter your home is through small cracks or gaps on the frames of doors and windows. Another way they can come inside your house is riding the boxes or other things that comes in your house.

To prevent the entry of spiders in your house, make sure to seal all the gaps and cracks from where they can get in. Once the spiders get in, you must know how to control their population. Spiders mainly come inside your house in search of food. Make your house less hospitable for them by cutting of their food supply. This can be done by reducing the population of other insects in your house. Use insecticides to control the population of insects. Keep your house clean and remove any food items that attract insects. Spiders like to hide in dark places. Make sure that you do not give them space to hide. Weekly vacuuming your house is necessary. Make your house clutter free. You will find spiders lurking around piles of old stashes in your house. Get rid of old furniture and newspapers or books.
